Company History

Bachhuber Mfg. Corp. was founded in 1983 by Peter Bachhuber while he was still employed at Mayville Engineering Co.,  a large stamping, machining, and fabricating firm in Mayville, WI. There he worked for his cousin Ted Bachhuber, who at the time was president and CEO of the company.  Peter was involved with tool and die engineering and was manager of R&D.

Being involved with metal stamping, Peter worked on a daily basis trying to find different ways to remove stampings from the punch presses. Possibly hazardous hand removal or noisy air ejection of parts prompted Peter to seek a safer and quieter method. Thus he designed and built the first Model-100 BMC Punch Press Unloader, a totally mechanically operated unit. This press unloader not only resulted in a quieter and safer shop, but also proved to be a great profit maker.  Thus Peter went off on his own and started Bachhuber Mfg. Corp., designers and builders of the BMC Punch Press Unloaders,  "The Profit Makers".

Bachhuber Mfg. Corp. started out as a one-man operation in a 500 sq. ft. facility, but within six months had to move into a larger 2,000 sq. ft. building.  With the addition of various manufacturing equipment, BMC also acquired contract manufacturing and machining work.  Two years later, BMC moved into a 5,000 sq. ft. facility and finally, in 1986 moved into its current location, a 30,000 sq. ft. building.  Presently, BMC employs about 40 people and manufactures five standard press unloader models in addition to custom designed and built units.  BMC also expanded the contract manufacturing part of the business to include CNC turning and milling as well as tube bending and forming.
